Pack 608 won the Chairman's Award from the Poway Chamber of Commerce for having the float that best represented the theme of the parade:: "Poway, the Infinte Frontier". The float featured a campsite, complete with campfire, and a telescope looking at three stars. One star represented the City of Poway, celebrating its 25th anniversary; the second star represented the 75th anniversary of Cub Scouting; the third star represented the 50th anniversary of Pack 608 -- the oldest pack in Poway. The real stars of the parade -- our boys -- followed behind, each carrying a sign representing an important event in the history of Scouting, the Poway area, or the space program.
